In 1915 a group of Swedish immigrants launched a new church in North Omaha, it met
in a house at 24th and Ames. They worshipped in their native language. Within a few years they had
so many people coming (many spoke English) that the church chose to take the optimistic step of
building a large sanctuary at 30th and Redick in hopes that even more people would come and worship
God with them. In 1921 the building was finished, the people came, and the congregation
thrived.
Many things have changed over the years (we have an additional Sudanese service instead of
Swedish) but some things have remained the same. Over the years Together praising God, Loving to
serve and Calling the community to faith in Jesus, have been our three most prized and lasting
values.
Our current vision (through 2006) is to "Praise God, Inspire Youth and Love North Omaha". We
would love nothing better than to have you join us in this quest.
